REQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. When does SCHOOL YEAR/ ACADEMIC YEAR/ SEMESTER STARTS? Are there long vacation/breaks that we need to know about?
School year or Academic year starts from every Mid-August to May 31 of the next year, First Semester will be from Aug to December before the Christmas Break (two weeks), and Second Semester is from January to May 31st wherein within this period school breaks for various occasions are observed Chinese New Year (one week), Spring Break (one week) and national holidays.
Class hours are from 08:00 to 15:30 Monday through Friday.
2. Are tuition fees paid one time for the year?
Tuition (see below) are paid in two semesters.
3. What are the other Fees we need to know about?
- Exam fee: NT$ 3,000
- Placement Fee of NT$ 25,000
- School Bus: NT$ 21,000 /two way NT$ 13,000 /one way
- School Uniforms, Lunch Ticket and Supplies
- Students from Grade 2 to 8 who are reconsidered, are accepted upon the condition that they attend ESL classes with an additional fee of NT$ 30,000 for the ESL program. The ESL fee covers the costs for a small-class instruction

1. Does DIS accept applications for each semester?
Yes, we accept applications for First and Second Semester. Please refer to Application Deadlines on the Student Recruitment page to be sure to get your application submitted on time.
2. Are late applications accepted?
Due to the big number of applications received for each term and the time that it takes to process all applications, only applications received within the Application Deadline and with all requirements met by the Document Deadline are guaranteed to be reviewed for the particular term.
Interested students should make every effort to submit all materials on time and understand that late applications may not be accommodated.
