Discovering Paths, Shaping Futures

Career Week Launching Program

19 January 2026

Held on January 19, 2026 at the D’TORCH Gymnasium, the Career Week Opening Program centered on the theme “DIScover Your Purpose: Where Learning Meets Opportunity.” Career Counselor Dr. Anne Portillo spearheaded the program in coordination with the HOUSE Committee, chaired by Ms. Archie Racadio and Mr. Samir Eddio, bringing together students, parents, and school personnel for a meaningful start to Career Week.

Part 1: Celebrating Careers and Talents

Anchored on the TORCH House values—Truthful, Organized, Reflective, Courageous, and Helpful—the program highlighted both character formation and career exploration. The event featured a production number from the High School Dance Troupe, a K-pop dance performance by Grades 2 and 3 students, and a lively Bollywood dance performance by Ms. Ishani Shah, a parent, which added color, energy, and cultural richness to the program.

A key highlight was the parent-student House presentations, where participants took turns sharing and introducing the careers of their parents, allowing students to gain a closer understanding of different professions and real-life experiences.

The program concluded its first part with the Certificate Presentation and Token of Appreciation led by Directress/Principal, Sr. Jacqueline C. Manuel, OP, recognizing the efforts and contributions of all involved in the successful opening of Career Week.

Part 2: House Spirit and Cheering Activity

The second part of the program featured the House Chant and Cheering Activity, where each House showcased its unity, creativity, and school spirit through energetic chants and performances. The presentations reflected strong teamwork and enthusiasm as students proudly represented their respective Houses.

Members of the HOUSE Committee, who served as judges for the competition, evaluated the performances. House points were awarded based on creativity, coordination, and overall performance, adding excitement and healthy competition among the students.

Overall, the program successfully created a lively and meaningful atmosphere where students were able to connect learning with real-life opportunities while strengthening school spirit, teamwork, and a sense of purpose.
