Making history on the tennis court, the DIS High School Tennis Team traveled from Taipei to Kaohsiung on October 17, 2026, to compete in the TISSA Tennis Tournament hosted by I-Shou International School (IIS) at the National University of Kaohsiung. The trip brought the team together for a day of competition, camaraderie, and school pride, culminating in a remarkable achievement: **Overall First Place**. This historic victory marked the first time Dominican International School (DIS) had claimed the tournament's overall championship, making it a proud moment for the student-athletes and the entire DIS community. Beyond the medals and match results, the achievement celebrates the dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship that brought the team together.
Three DIS student-athletes earned podium finishes with outstanding performances. Jayden Cheng-Chuan Liao (G8A) captured 1st Place in Boys’ Singles, while Sophie Liang (G8C) claimed 1st Place in Girls’ Singles. Supichaya “Alina” Hsu (G9RL) also made her mark, earning 3rd Place in Girls’ Singles. Their impressive results contributed to the team's overall victory and gave DIS plenty of reasons to celebrate.
Under the guidance of Coach Charles Marks and with Ms. Christine Lai as team manager, the players represented DIS with determination, skill, and sportsmanship. Their success reflects the effort they put into their game and their commitment to giving their best on the court.
