Pastoral Visit of the Mother General

Sr. Ma. Asunción González Feijóo, O.P., General Prioress of the Missionaries of St. Dominic (Misioneras de Santo Domingo) visited the Dominican International School-Taipei last October 17, 2022. She was with General Secretary Sr. Mary Jeanet Pintacasi, O.P. They are based in Rome, Italy, the location of the General Curia (Curia Generalicia), from which the whole congregation is governed.

Srs. Ma. Asunción and Mary Jeanet regularly visit the provinces or missionaries as part of their pastoral work. The seven provinces or mission territories are:

• St. Louis Bertrand, Spain
• Immaculate Conception, Philippines
• St. Thomas of Aquinas, Japan
• Our Lady of the Rosary, USA
• St. Martin de Porres, Chile
• St. Vincent Ferrer, Taiwan
• St. Dominic, South Korea

The Province of Saint Vincent Ferrer is present in Taiwan, Guam, and Continental China. Its mission is centered on “Mission for the People”, sowing the seed of the Word of God in schools, residences, and sanctuaries.

She visited DIS Taipei during its 60th-anniversary celebration last December 2017. Sr. Ma. Asunción delivered a short speech inspiring everyone to “BE LIGHT IN THE DARK” as St. Dominic.
