Class 2023 - Believers... Achievers


The class of 2023, had their graduation ceremonies in the DIS gymnasium sans any restrictions. It was the first commencement rites after Taiwan lifted its COVID-19 restrictions in the country. The graduates as well as their parents were jubilant and ecstatic in experiencing this once-in-a-lifetime event.


Lower School

The Kindergarten graduation was held on May 25, 2023. To delight their parents, both classes had a “The Jungle Book” performance. In the afternoon, the Grade Five students had their promotion ceremony. Both classes (5-St. Martin & 5-St. Dominic) had a drama performance. This drama presentation is done at every promotion ceremony to give the Grade Fivers a lead-up experience for the Young Shakespeare Playwriting Competition when they reach middle school. Both Kindergarten and Grade Five performances were directed by their Drama Teacher Ms. Emily Howe. The graduates gave their teachers an appreciation gift for imparting their knowledge unending support and guidance during the school year.

Middle School

The Grade Eight graduation ceremony was held on May 26, 2023. The guest speaker was Mr. William Huang, from Class 2010. This year’s Valedictorian is Lillian Z Y Liao. She bested 46 other graduates. The Grade Eights appreciated their parents with their musical performance which was directed by Music Teachers, Ms. Zoe Lin and Mr. Ronaldo Francisco. The graduates gave their teachers an appreciation gift for imparting their knowledge unending support and guidance during the school year.

High School

On May 30, 2023, the seniors (grade 12 students) had their graduation ceremony. Ms. Betty Lin, an alumnus, and a parent gave the inspirational message. She mentioned that hard work, determination, and perseverance are the factors to being a successful college student. Roy Pei-Jeng Hsieh is this year’s Valedictorian, while the Salutatorian is Jason Chun Yu Shih. To give gratitude to their parents and teachers, the graduates had a musical interlude.


In lieu of Directress/Principal Sr. Ma. Zenaida T. Ancheta, OP who was in the hospital was Vice Principal Sr. Jacqueline C. Manuel, OP. Provincial Prioress Sr. Teresita Su, OP graced the senior graduation ceremony. She awarded the Loyalty awardees among the seniors.
